I am not a medicaid coordinator, but I am an Independent Living Specialist. As far as vehicles with modifications, you may get some help in making mods on a vehicle through vocational rehabilitation in your state. Ramps are sometimes funded by various granting agencies in your state. Some CIL's have ramp programs, some churches will assist people also. Some grants in our state may require a match (in kind, labor, etc). Call your local CIL and they should be able to help you locate resources. If you can't locate one, contact NCIL (National Centers for Independent Living), and they may be able to help you.
Most states have public transportation for Vets. In our area (very rural) the vets are scheduled for pick up in a particular area, and the West Tn. Vets bus will pick them up. We also have Northwest TennesseeTransportation Service, for the rural areas. Check at the VA that you go to to see what they have in your area.
